FM9 just got off call with some TKCs from Kathmandu! For those of you who don't know, a TKC (Third Culture Kid) is a person who has lived in more than one country during their childhood (0-18). These students were seniors from an International Relations class, and wanted to ask us some questions about a particularly hairy subject: American Social issues. They mainly wanted to know about the hurricane damage in Houston, what issues mattered to us as students, gun control and immigration issues, and the gun control protests that had sprung up around the nation. In turn, we asked them about security issues on the Nepal and Tibet border, and the symbolic reason behind their triangle (!) shaped flag (apparently is represents 8 of the 10 tallest mountains in their country. It was a super fun chat, and we wish them the best in their future pursuits.
